Ebay Warning
News March 22nd, 2008Here's a quick warning for all you collectors out there who may be looking to buy stickers second hand from eBay.
There have been a number of instances of people selling old stickers, forged stickers and mislabelled items to people wishing to collect the official 2008 stickers.
So the warning is be careful about what you buy!
Ask the sellers questions, ask for conformation that these are unique, get full front and back pictures.
The official stickers look like this:

What about employees attempting to profiteer from the game via ebay by selling the most common tickets!

Interesting, I’m sure if they guy’s manager found this page then they’d be out of a job all for the sake of a tenner!
At the end of the day though this doesn’t really impede anybody’s ability to win the competition, it just lessens from McDonald’s profiteering from it.
There are only so many winning stickers in circulation so you’re still just as likely to find a rare one as anyone else. This kind of trade just stops you having to buy x number of meals to fill out the common blanks.
Overall this kind of trade probably harms the competition, as things like this are what will prevent McDonald’s from running it in future years. But saying that I’m sure any employees found doing this will be reprimanded and it’s such a large world-wide money spinner for them that I can’t see them giving it up any time soon.

There is a COVENTRY STREET listed on eBay which describes the item as “Monopoly game card” and “Genuine”. There is no mention of McDonalds or that it is the McDonalds monopoly game, but the seller obviously wants you to think that. The bidding is up to £79 so far which would be ridiculous if it were not the McDonalds token. I have also added a McDonalds Coventry Street listing which warns potential buyers of this scam. I have emailed this seller asking various questions, but of course I’ve had no reply. I hope your readers don’t fall into the obvious trap of thinking that this eBay item is for the token everyone wants!

Has there ever been mention of McDonalds or that it is the McDonalds monopoly game but the seller obviously wants me to think that?
